1. Introduction
SGW Capital Limited is a New Zealand company based in Christchurch. We operate the brands Expanders, Rhyno, Genvex, Thicker and RoomDrop. This privacy policy covers all of those brands and the services we provide through them. We are committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
2. Information we collect
a) Website
When you use our website or contact forms, we collect the information you choose to provide — such as your name, email address, phone number and message. We also collect quote request details and standard analytics data about how visitors use our site.
b) Social media
We collect public comments and replies left on our Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts. This includes the comment text, the commenter's public username and profile ID, the comment timestamp, and the post the comment was left on. We collect this information through Meta's official Graph API.
We do not collect private messages, email addresses, or any information from private profiles.
3. How we use it
We use the information we collect to respond to enquiries, route sales enquiries to the correct regional team, moderate spam and impersonation attempts, and improve our products and service.
4. Automated processing
Comments left on our social media pages are automatically categorised by an AI system to help us identify sales enquiries, support requests and spam. No decision with legal or significant effect on any individual is made automatically. A human reviews any public response before it is sent.
5. Overseas disclosure
Comment content may be processed by third-party AI service providers located in the United States. We have taken reasonable steps to ensure that comparable safeguards are in place, as required by Information Privacy Principle 12 of the Privacy Act 2020.
We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
6. Retention
Comment data is retained for 24 months, after which it is deleted. Enquiry records are retained for 7 years where required for tax and business record purposes.
7. Your rights
Under Principles 6 and 7 of the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you. To request access, correction, or deletion, please email us at privacy@sgwcapital.co.nz.
